This is my first post. But this is not my first time to blog. I have started many a blog in the past in hopes to keep it going.... but as time went by I lost interest. And passwords. I'm not organized as I should be about keeping passwords together. I keep hoping that one day I will sit down and write them all down in one place instead of trying to keep a pile of sticky notes.
Maybe this should be my New Year's resolution. Get a folder together with passwords. This might work. Now where's my sticky notes.
This blog is about me, making crafts from a budget-minded point of view. Some interests I have is making cards, general crafts, and crochet. I'm in the process of making 3 afghans. And a winter scarf.
My mother gave me all of her left over yarn from years ago. We are talking yarn (from the 70's!!) With original paper wrap and logo of K-mart. Oh my. The yarn was kept in a wicker hamper. So no mildew or dust that I can tell. And believe me~ I know what mold and mildew is all about. Phew. Our home was built in the 1950's. We have a crawl-space... which is dry for the most part. However, we decided to do some fall cleaning. We removed all of the clothing from the closet and the shoes. Then we noticed black mold "growing" on the inside wall. Ewwww.... So hubby got out the mold remover and sprayed it on the area.... within a few seconds the black mold was completely gone. We are keeping a watch on that closet for sure. In the second closet, you guessed it.... but this time we found mildew on all of my leather shoes and purses. I thought about just wiping this all off and hoping the smell would also leave the material. Wrong. Those ended up in trash bags.... On a more positive note.... that means buying more purses and shoes. You may be a little confused as to why I would even mention cleaning out the closets.... well in the mess of mildew and mold.... there were clear bags filled with perfectly good yarn... now gone to waste due to the ewwww. That is why I'm having to "Kraft" on a budget.
